Annual School Musical

A tradition of excellence in the creative arts continues to be actively fostered in Coláiste Chiaráin

Coláiste Chiaráin has a rich history of Musical Theatre within the school community. Our production team believes in the power of music as a tool for social inclusion to aid development of self-confidence, self-expression and personal growth through the medium of dance, drama and singing.

Over the years Coláiste Chiaráin has been renowned for its remarkable performances of musical theatre. Some past productions are; “Hairspray”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Oliver!”, “All Shook Up”, “The Addams Family” and many more. While each project is different, the role of the school musical provides a valuable experience for all students from those with lead roles to students who run our backstage and front of house teams.

Whilst being part of the cast of a Coláiste Chiaráin production, students have the opportunity to work with a professional team who are second to none. As a result of the exposure many past students have nurtured their talents to become members of Limerick Musical Society, The Cecilian Musical Society and many other musical and choral societies in Munster and further afield.

We are incredibly proud of our annual school musical and the opportunities it affords to every student at Coláiste Chiaráin to excel within the framework of the extra-curricular programme. Taking part in the school musical builds confidence, team-loyalty and leadership skills which equip our students for the future in every area they enter into socially and academically.

Coláiste Chiaráin is a co-educational secondary school operating under the patronage of Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board. www.lcetb.ie
