On Thursday 7th November Coláiste Chiaráin held a Spelling Bee competition for all first year pupils. It was a very enjoyable day for all involved. The event was organised by English teacher Ms. Mary-Kate Hanley as part of English Literature Week.

 First year students had been preparing for this competition for weeks by researching commonly misspelled words and practicing in class. It’s a fantastic initiative and a great was to promote literacy in the school.

Congratulations to Taha Njie who was the overall winner and crowned Spelling Bee Champion 2019.
