Letter from Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we approach our countdown to Christmas, we have time to reflect on the year that has passed and the challenges that we have overcome together.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you, our parents/guardians for working with us as we have endeavoured to keep all your sons and daughters safe in our school.  This year has been demanding and has required adaptability, resilience and flexibility from all in our school community. I am grateful for all that you have done to support us, equally I am so proud of all that our students have done to work with us, adapt to new challenges and routines and successfully navigate our first term of this school year.

Below are a few general school updates:

New School Developments

Huge progress has been made on our new school campus.  We have contractors on site over the Christmas break finalising aspects of the school build.  2021 will be a historic year for our school community as we move to our new campus. As explained previously we will begin the new year in our existing campus. This will allow time to induct students and staff and move in a planned manner to our new campus. More details to follow on this in January.

Coláiste Chiaráin Christmas Tales

I would like to invite you all to enjoy a heartwarming collection of stories and poems inspired by Christmas. Ms. Hanley’s Form 1 Performing Arts Class are delighted to present ‘Christmas Tales’. A new story or poem will be released each day in the countdown to Christmas finishing with a very special reading of ‘The Night Before Christmas’ on Christmas Eve. We sincerely hope you enjoy them. Well done to Ms. Hanley and her Performing Arts Class and also thank you to Mr. Bushell and his Broadcasting class who recorded and edited this excellent project. Have a wonderful Christmas.  All Videos are available on our school website: www.cco.ie

As we bring this year to a close, it is with a sense of hope, optimism and excitement that we look forward to 2021.

On behalf of myself, our school leadership team and entire school staff, I would like to wish all our school community a happy and peaceful Christmas.

Wishing you all continued health and happiness for the new year.
