Coláiste Chiaráin
is proud to Present
‘THE WIZ’
at The LimeTree Theatre
After a hiatus of two years, Coláiste Chiaráin is delighted to announce details of its forthcoming major production in the magnificent Lime Tree Theatre. With the enjoyment and success of previous shows, few can argue that we here in Coláiste Chiaráin have an extraordinary array of talent among our students and staff. As it is very much part of our mission to ensure that every effort is made to showcase this talent and further develop our students to their full potential, we return to the same venue on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th January 2023. A production of this size is a hugely ambitious undertaking and many students will be directly participating on stage, with very many others in support. As in previous years, the students have been rehearsing with staff and our Director Des Henn, Choreographer, Barbara Meany and Musical Director, Michael Young since last October and the show promises to be a feast for the eyes and ears.
The Wiz follows the adventures of Dorothy, a shy, girl from Kansas who finds herself magically transported to the urban fantasy Land of Oz, which resembles a dream version of New York City. Befriended by a Scarecrow, a Tin Man and a cowardly Lion, she travels through the city to seek an audience with the mysterious Wiz, who they say is the only one powerful enough to send her home. Come along to the Lime Tree Theatre to see what happens!
The show will take place on the nights of Friday the 27th of January and Saturday 28th of January at 8 pm. It is our expectation that all our students and their families will attend. This year tickets are only available via the Lime Tree Theatre website https://limetreetheatre.ie/ or the Lime Tree Tree Theatre Box Office (061)-953400.
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to this wonderful production!
