Notice of School Closure – Tuesday February 4th

January 29th 2020

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

The Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI) has notified Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board that, following a ballot, all TUI members have been directed to take strike action on Tuesday 4th February 2020. On that day, pickets will be placed on workplaces where TUI members are employed.

This school/college has a number of staff who are members of the TUI. Following a detailed assessment of the implications of the strike action on the operation of the school/college, management in consultation with Head Office has reluctantly decided that it cannot guarantee the health and safety of students on the premises on that day.

Therefore, we are informing you not to send your child to school on Tuesday 4th February.

The school/college will be open to receive students on Wednesday 5th February.

In the event that the strike is called off, the School/College will operate as normal and will be open to receive students on February 4th.

Yours sincerely

Gerard O’Sullivan
